All within close proximity to the Hounds Hill Shopping Centre, Blackpool's main stores include Marks and Spencer, Boots, BHS, WH Smith, Woolworth (2 stores), Next, Virgin, HMV, Index, Argos, Wilkinson and JJB Sports.
In addition, a wide variety of other national and independent retailers, indoor markets and businesses can be found, together with a good range of independents, specialty shops and numerous leisure and dining facilities.
As might be expected of a world famous resort, each street has its own unique character, all adding to the overall variety of retail and leisure on offer in the town.



Victoria Street, is one of the prime, pedestrianised shopping streets, offering a wealth of leading national retailers, including amongst many others, the Disney Store, Marks and Spencer, Evans, and Whittard. It also provides access to the Hounds Hill Shopping Centre, Corporation street and Matcham court, where Matchams, the Grand Theatre bar, to the rear of the theatre, boasts a covered street café during high season.

Church Street, runs through the middle of the town centre, and is home to Marks and Spencer, Next, Virgin, JJB sports, New Look and other famous names, as well as The Opera House, Winter Gardens and Grand Theatre. The central pedestrianised area is a busy and popular destination with plenty of public seating and periodic street entertainment and events.

Bank Hey Street and Market Street Generally the busiest area in the town centre, Bank Hey Street runs parallel to the promenade, on the inland side of the Tower. Most of Blackpool's main stores including Boots, (with its exterior glass lift, providing a panoramic view out to sea) Woolworths, Littlewoods, Index, and WH Smith front onto Bank Hey Street, as well as Pricebusters indoor market, and one of the two entrances to the Tower (the other being on the Promenade). Situated on the north side of Church Street, opposite Bank Hey Street and leading to Talbot Square, lies Market Street, where the two well known high quality retailers, Leonard Dews jewellers and Executive Lighting can be found.



Queen Street. With its delightful square and seating, providing panoramic views out to sea, is home to a unique mix of retail and leisure outlets, as well as Blackpool Central Library and the Grundy Art Gallery. Specialist shops such as Standerwicks (China and Glass) Body Talk (Lingerie) and Caves Corner (a vast selection of high quality giftware) sit alongside a variety of different restaurants and bars, as well as the renowned 'Funny Girls' nightclub. SAKS hair and beauty salon also features in the Street

Clifton Street. Running parallel with Talbot Road, Clifton Street offers an interesting mixture of retail and leisure, As well as a variety of restaurants and café's the street also features clothing shops, Peers the jewellers, banks & building societies, Yates's and Blackpool's oldest retail outlet, Birchalls tobacconists. The main Visitor Centre is also located at the bottom of the Street.

Birley Street. This delightful, pedeistrianised street with its enviable choice of indoor and street cafes, provides an ideal opportunity to relax over a well-earned beverage and watch the world go by. Birley street also features retailers such as Birley House, Greenwoods, Rawcliffes Intersport (school and sports goods), Bargainbuys, Tandy, Harveys (furniture and furnishings) and Stolen from Ivor, as well as various travel agencies, banks and building societies.

Topping Street, Deansgate and Abingdon Street. Situated on the eastern side of the main town centre area, and accessed from Church Street and Talbot Road, adjacent to the bus station, Topping street is home to a wide variety of shops, cafes and restaurants, pubs, clubs, and other businesses. East Topping Street car park, to the east of the street, provides very convenient parking and ready access to the town centre through Wood Street and across Cedar Square, where further cafes and restaurants can also be found.

Deansgate, with its various cafes and shops provides another convenient link from Topping Street to Abingdon Street. Here, the main post office and Abingdon Street market can be found as well as distinctive shops such as Zilch (fashion clothing and decorative household goods) and Huttons (hand made chocolates), which add to the street's offer.

Talbot Road. As the main link between North rail station, the Bus station and town centre, Talbot Road is a busy town centre route featuring a wide mix of stores, shops, pubs and clubs, restaurants and fast food outlets. The largest UK Wilkinson store (household goods) can be found opposite the bus station, with its adjacent multi storey car park offering good facilities. The town centre's second Woolworths store is located further west, towards Talbot Square, where stands the Town Hall and Clifton Arms hotel.



The Hounds Hill Shopping Centre Undoubtedly the jewel in the crown of Blackpool's prime shopping area, is the Hounds Hill Centre, situated close to the Tower. Opening onto Victoria Street and Adelaide Street West, the centre houses 42 separate retail units, virtually all of which are leading household names. Direct access is available from the centre into Boots the Chemists and Littlewoods, with other major stores close by. Open for business 7 days a week, the Centre's bright and airy malls make shopping a real pleasure, whilst the Mall café on the mezzanine floor provides the ideal opportunity to enjoy some light refreshments, or even something more substantial. The central lifts provide ready access to toilets and the multi-storey, pay and display car park, directly above the Centre, the car park being accessed from Coronation Street, to the rear of the Centre. Christmas brings a special and unique atmosphere to the Hounds Hill shopping experience, when a full programme of seasonal entertainment is featured alongside Santa's grotto and the Centre's fantastic animated display and Christmas decorations.

Shopmobility Blackpool's Shopmobility Centre operates from Clifton Street providing a wide range of mobility aids, from walking frames to electric scooters, to facilitate easy access around the town centre for those with mobility difficulties. Dropped kerbs at road junctions enhance wheelchair and scooter access.

Abingdon Street market, situated adjacent to the main Post Office, is a traditional market, open Monday to Saturday and offering a wide selection of fresh produce alongside traditional household and specialist goods. Closer to the seafront, adjacent to the Tower on Bank Hey Street, stands Pricebusters, probably one of the best indoor markets in Britain. Open all year round, 7 days a week, the market provides easy access and a new entertainment area, providing for shopping in safety and comfort, as well as restaurant facilities.

Sunday Shopping Over 90 town centre shops and stores are open on Sundays, with opening times generally falling between 10.30 am and 4.30 pm This shopping offer, together with the wide range of leisure amenities, street cafes, pubs and restaurants, the promenade and, of course the beach, provide for a great Sunday in Blackpool.

Car Parking Over 4500 car parking spaces are available in multi storey and surface car parks within and close to the town centre. Most of these are pay and display and regularly patrolled by security staff.
